The Rock Island Art Festival is finally here and Chickasha is preparing for an extraordinary experience that is unlike any other. The event will combine four different events to display the diverse characteristics of our city. If you are a resident of Chickasha Oklahoma, just passing through, or planning a weekend trip Chickasha, here is what you should expect to find. The festival runs from September 29th-October 1st. The Rock Island Arts Festival has a new venue and will be held on Chickasha Ave, from 4th to 6th Street. This new spot promises an even more engaging experience than before, with a variety of local artists, craftspeople, performers, and musicians joining in for a three-day celebration that will appeal to all ages. This event is put together by the Chickasha Area Arts Council. The highlights this Rock island Festival weekend will be; Rock Island Ride: Saturday, 30th September 30, Starting at 9 AM. Are you passionate about cycling? Then the Rock Island Ride is the perfect event for you! This charity ride is sure to provide an exciting experience, with over 300 cyclists zooming through the streets of Chickasha. There are six different routes planned, each suited to a different age and level of ability, all in the name of a worthy cause. Together We Heel: Saturday, Saturday, 30th September 2023, Starting from 10 AM. Join the “Together We Heel” walk to show your opposition to domestic violence. This year, the walk will start at the Leg Lamp instead of the YMCA. The 1/2 mile journey will take participants through downtown Chickasha and end at the Rock Island Arts Festival Main Stage at 6th and Chickasha Ave. ICAN is hosting this event to rally people together to raise awareness and demonstrate support for survivors of domestic violence. The Oklahoma Food Truck Championship: Saturday, 30th September 2023, Starting at 10:30 AM. Your taste buds will be in for a unique treat at the Oklahoma Food Truck Championship in historic downtown Chickasha. Over 30 food trucks from all over Oklahoma will be converging here, offering their culinary best and eyeing the $10,000 grand prize for the winning truck. There will be something for everyone, from savory to sweet, mild to spicy, you name it. The Oklahoma Food Truck Championship will be hosted by the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce. The Rock Island Weekend, aptly labeled as “Bites, Bikes, and Art Vibes,” is a representation of collective effort. By uniting these four unique events beneath one banner, we form an amazing experience that displays the spirit of Chickasha’s art, food, exercise, and strength. See You at Downtown Chickasha!
