97th Annual Washita Valley Golf Tournament

Don’t Miss Out: The 97th Annual Washita Valley Golf Tournament is THIS July 4th Weekend!

Saving a 97-Year Tradition – Register NOW!

Here’s where this story gets truly heartwarming. When the future of the golf course became uncertain, the local community stepped up in a big way. They simply couldn’t bear the thought of a 97-year tradition coming to an end – not on their watch!

The local community decided to host this year’s tournament because some traditions are just too precious to lose. After nearly a century of bringing golfers together, they knew this tournament had to continue.

What happens after this tournament? Nobody knows for certain. The future of the golf course remains an open question. But what we do know is this: July 4th weekend 2025 is going to be spectacular, and the community is pulling out all the stops to make it memorable.

Course Conditions That Will Blow You Away

97th Annual Washita Valley Golf Tournament at Chickasha Golf and Country Club

Right now, the Chickasha Golf and Country Club is in absolutely pristine condition. This beautiful 9-hole course (3,171 yards, Par 35) designed by Woody Kerr has been testing golfers since 1915. The greens are rolling true, the fairways are lush and green, and every detail has been attended to with care.

The Ultimate Independence Day Weekend Experience

This isn’t just a golf tournament – it’s a full weekend celebration that’s perfect for the whole family! Here’s what makes this year extra special:

  • Pool will be open for cooling off between rounds
  • Fantastic food available throughout the weekend
  • Great people and amazing community atmosphere
  • Free to watch for spectators
  • Perfect way to celebrate July 4th weekend

A Tournament Older Than The Masters

This tournament has been running since 1928 – making it older than The Masters! The very first champion was Henry Robertson, and since then, legends like Bobby McAfee (who won multiple times from 1955-1986) and David Jennings (who won an incredible 13 times between 1988-2009) have claimed victory on this historic course.

Former PGA Tour player Danny Edwards has won this tournament, and The Oklahoman once called it “the most coveted golf prize” besides winning a state title. In 1961, crowds of over 500 people came to watch – and this year promises to be just as exciting.

Your Last Chance to Make History

This could be your only opportunity to play in this historic tournament. With the future uncertain, the 97th Annual Washita Valley Golf Tournament takes on even more significance. You’ll be walking in the footsteps of nearly a century of golf legends on a course that’s been testing golfers for over 110 years.

The greens are perfect, the pool is ready, the food will be delicious, and this amazing 97-year tradition needs YOU to help make it unforgettable.
