Christmas in July is Chickasha’s summer version of the holiday, and it’s been growing since 2020. What started as one block party now fills the whole month. The Leg Lamp downtown is the year-round mascot, and the celebration leans hard into water slides and fireworks, plus a Santa who shows up in a Hawaiian shirt.
The Chamber promises new surprises for 2026. A few dates are already locked in.
8th Annual Fireworks Spectacular, July 3
SaltCreek Casino hosts its 8th Annual Fireworks Spectacular on Thursday, July 3, from 5 to 10 PM. The night brings a full fireworks show along with food trucks, retail vendors, and family activities. It’s a solid warm-up the evening before the Fourth.
Festival of Freedom, July 4
Independence Day brings the biggest day of the month to Shannon Springs Park, the Chickasha Festival of Freedom. The pool runs 10 AM to 6 PM, with games, a costume contest, and free watermelon from 4 to 6 PM. At 6 PM the Parade of Stars & Handlebars steps off, followed by live music from the Southern Sailor Band, food trucks, Cade’s Cones, and train rides. Fireworks go up once it’s dark.
Parade of Stars & Handlebars, July 4
This one’s worth calling out on its own. The parade rolls at 6 PM, starting at 12th and Montana and ending at the 9th Street park entrance. Bikes, scooters, golf carts, motorcycles, and ATVs are all welcome, decked out for the holiday. Entry is $10 per person or household, or $25 per group or club, with proceeds going to a local cause. Cycle Santa joins the ride, and Tim’s train wraps up the route with rides through the park afterward.
Christmas CoolDown Block Party, July 25
The month closes downtown on Saturday, July 25. The party runs 6 to 9 PM on the 100 block of Chickasha Avenue, right by the Leg Lamp. Bring the kids for water slides, a foam party, games, snow cones, and a visit from Cycle Santa. A movie plays in the park at 9:30 PM under the summer sky. Local vendors who want a booth can message the Chamber to get involved.
Around town all month
Beyond the dated events, Christmas in July spills into the shops and streets. Boutiques downtown run holiday sales through July, and the Chamber usually ties in a shop-local contest. If you’d rather not fight the December crowds, this is a fine time to start gift shopping.
Going for the first time? Pick the Fourth at Shannon Springs Park or the July 25 block party. Both are free, and you won’t need a ticket for either. Bring lawn chairs and cash for the food trucks.
